VWH RIDING CLUB

Huge congratulations to Louise Chamberlain on her win in the Elementary Dressage To Music class at the Area 9 qualifier's.

A fabulous day for our three teams at West Wilts today. The arena eventing course of around 20 jumping efforts was twisty and a major challenge to remember. Show jumps down incurred 5 penalties, while XC obstacles down were 10 and the optimum time, as ever was a complete mystery in each class! Some lovely riding saw our 70 cm ladies of Nia Glover on Alfie, Penny Hall on Fionn, Poppy Slade on the evergreen Minty and, reappearing for the VWH on new mount Hippo, Scarlett Howse,

What a fabulous day! Our team were brilliant, Cassie Price was fantastic as team trainer, setting everyone up on the course walk, warming everyone up and literally riding every stride with every combination. So many VWH RC supporters out in force to cheer the team on. And the picnic!!! Well it was a three phase picnic and beyond all expectations and utterly fabulous. Our team: Biffy and Tom, Lynda and Splash, Nicky and Foxy, Jackie and Bea You guys were awesome!! 3 clears and

Out of 22 teams from all across the region we finished a fabulous 4th - And somehow none of us got wet! Huge thank you to Jo Thornton who was o

A fantastic day at the beautiful Howick for the Area Horse Trials Qualifier! The sun was out with a really lovely breeze to help keep horses and riders comfortable throughout the day. A huge congratulations to our competitors for representing the club so well: Penny Hall & Ffion produced a fantastic double clear to finish 2nd in the 70cm, before Penny somehow found enough energy to head straight back out and pilot Ben to 3rd in the 80cm. Lynda King & Enzo enjoyed a brilliant

What a super day today at Rectory Farm Arena for the Area 9 SJ hosted and run brilliantly by Wessex Gold RC. Nia Glover-Jones and Alfie took on the 70cm. A super first round and just a green moment in the second round but all smiles and delighted how young Alfie is progressing. Penny Hall and Ffion in the 80cm had a great day just rolling a pole in each round but a lovely partnership to watch. Pip and Banner were all smiles with two clear rounds also in the 80cm (and a tiny b

What a brilliant day for the Club at West Wilts on the 28th June for the Combined Challenge Qualifier. There were double clears and smiles all around the VWH and the weather was perfect! The 80cm team of Penny Hall, Penny King and Biffy McNally took the Win and should be heading for the Champs! Biffy was 2nd individually and Penny K 5th. Our 70 cm team, Nia Glover, Penny Hall and Rosie Dale came second, all with double clears. Penny H on Fionn pulled off an individual win wit

Dressage success in the sunshine at SDRC.

Samantha put in a strong prelim performance for 66.46, Deb rode novice for 67.50 and Louise did a lovely elementary test s

A team win and team 8th at the first dressage qualifier of the year.

A super but chilly day was had by members today at the BRC Area 9 Dressage Qualifier at CCR. We had two teams competing, and with a great turnout we were up against 15 other teams. The VWH Lions - Fi B riding Intro, Fiona riding Prelim 2 for 3rd individual, Emma riding Prelim 1 on a borrowed pony (thank you Nicky Holford), Deb riding Novice 1 for 4th individual. This resulted in a brilliant Team 3rd. The VWH Tigers - Jo riding Intro, Pippa riding Prelim 1 for individual 5th,
