Win, win and second!
A fabulous day for our three teams at West Wilts today.
The arena eventing course of around 20 jumping efforts was twisty and a major challenge to remember. Show jumps down incurred 5 penalties, while XC obstacles down were 10 and the optimum time, as ever was a complete mystery in each class!
Some lovely riding saw our 70 cm ladies of Nia Glover on Alfie, Penny Hall on Fionn, Poppy Slade on the evergreen Minty and, reappearing for the VWH on new mount Hippo, Scarlett Howse, clinch the win!
In the 80cm, that pair joined Penny H, who posted her second clear, this time on Ben, Pippa Taylor on Banner and Penny King on Rio. A couple of unlucky rails XC saw this team finish a close second behind hosts CERC.
Pip then stepped up to the 90cm with Lynda King on Splash, Biffy McNally on Tom and Alex McConnell on Belle, back after a recent injury. This team were a joy to watch -smooth, competent and with some nifty turns from Biffy- thoroughly deserving their win in the afternoon.
At least two tickets to the Championship at Aston le Walls won and as ever a great team spirit and reuniting of friends old and new, made it a fun day out for everyone.
