Off to the Championships we go!

The first competiton of 2026 - a great success for VWH at SJ qualifier!

A sadly slightly depleted squad contested the Area 9 SJ qualifier at West Wilts on Sunday 11th Jan, albeit with full teams in the 70 cm and 80cm classes. Commiserations to Pip, Biffy and Alex who had to withdraw at short notice.

Time was tight in both classes and courses were twisty and well up to (or over!) height.

In the 70 cm, Aimee Todd on Silver, Penny Hall on Fionn, Poppy Slade on Minty and Penny King on Rio netted a WIN for the Club and qualified for the Championships at Arena UK in Lincoln! Penny Hall and Aimee jumped clear to take individual 4th and 5th respectively.

Joined by Jackie Anderson and Bea, the two Penny's and Aimee went forward to contest the 80 cm. The veteran ladies surprised themselves by jumping their biggest course for years as WWEC insisted that the jump off fences were set at 90cm! Again Penny Hall and Aimee achieved a great clear round and the team finished 4th.
