Autumn Camp 2015

Dates are now in the calendar for Autumn camp 2015.

We are headed down to Stockland Lovell on Saturday 26th September for a lunchtime start, through to lunch on Wednesday 30th September.

We have been lucky enough to secure POLLY WILLIAMSON to instruct us, following the success of her clinics this Spring.

Polly Williamson won six gold medals as Junior and young Rider European Championships (as Polly Lyon riding Highland Road and Folly's Last) as well as numerous other wins at International competitions, including placings at both Badminton and Burghley. Since her accident Polly has become a very successful and popular local trainer and understands the pressures in preparing well for competitions at all levels. She is a well respected trainer from Pony/Riding Club to International level and this experience and natural empathy underpins her coaching.

A Deposits of £100 secures you a place - first come first served!

Total cost is likely to be in the region of £385, but final cost will be dependent on final numbers.  The more people we have, the cheaper it will be, so get your names in now!!

There is also the option of a shorter stay from Saturday afternoon to Monday evening.

Groups are no more than 4, and will be matched as closely as possible to horse and rider ability and aspirations - we want everyone to have fun (not to terrify you!)

The format:

We will arrive from Saturday lunchtime, with a lesson Saturday afternoon.  Then it's time to settle the horses (and ourselves) into the accommodation, and tuck into some excellent Stockland Lovell catering (probably with the help of some wine!).  The lessons will be a mixture of flat, SJ and XC - hopefully the weather will enable us to get out on the cross country course, but due to the time of year, this is not guaranteed.  If we remain arena bound, the three sessions are likely to be a mixture of SJ and simulated cross country.  If you would prefer not to jump, that's fine - you just need to let me know on the booking form so that I can structure the groups and the lessons accordingly.

If you pay in full before the end of August, the cost for the full stay is £355, at any point after that date it is £385.   For the weekend stay, the cost is £255 (or £235 if paid in full by 31st August).  This is excellent value for some top class tuition, and all of your accommodation and food costs!

You can also pay in instalments if you wish, but you need to mark each payment with your name and 'camp' as a reference so that we can allocate it to you.

Please click here for the booking form, which you should return to Jude on the address indicated.  You can pay via cheque (made payable to the VWH Riding Club and sent to Jude) or via online bank transfer.  A wait list will be kept if necessary.  Places are first come, first served (so don't hang around!)

If you'd like more information, please contact Jude on 07970 976063 or email

Just a couple of snap shots from previous camps, with something for everyone!  Whether you don't jump, are leaving the ground for the first time, riding a youngster or slightly more adventurous, groups are organised so that everyone achieves :-)
